Berry Irish Moss

We are on an Irish Moss kick. This recipe tastes exactly like a traditional Berry Yogurt smoothie, but is completely dairy-free and extremely energizing. A great way to start your day!

Irish Moss is a medicinal Seaweed found along the Atlantic. Irish Moss is packed with vitamins, nutrients, and trace minerals, soothes mucous membranes in the lungs & digestive tract, has anti-viral & anti-bacterial properties, restores libido and more. It is a wonderful natural remedy found right along the coast here in Maine. In fact, the Moss in this recipe was harvested by us on a recent trip to one of Maine’s heavenly beaches.

To obtain the Moss Gel used as the backbone of this recipe, simply soak a handful of Irish Moss overnight, strain water in morning, cover with water in pot and boil for 30-40 minutes. Discard Irish Moss solids and let liquid cool in your fridge. Viola!
